Sleep monitoring based compliance and effectiveness tracking engine

A method of tracking compliance with a medical protocol for a medical intervention and effectiveness of the medical intervention, the method comprising:

• collecting sensed sleep data for a sleep session for a user;
• obtaining perceived sleep data from the user after the sleep session;
• calculating predicted sleep data for the user, based on user background data and transactional data reflecting the medical intervention for the user;
• comparing the sensed sleep data, the perceived sleep data, and the predicted sleep data, to determine effectiveness of one or more medical interventions for the user, and compliance with the medical protocol associated with the one or more medical interventions.

A compliance and effectiveness tracking engine system comprising:

• a sensor system to obtain sensed sleep data for a sleep session for a user;
• a sleep analysis system to identify sleep phases, during the sleep session, and to identify respiratory events occurring during the sleep session, an output of the sleep analysis system being processed to determine sensed sleep data, including a sleep score, waking and sleeping times, sleep duration, deep and REM sleep ratios, and wake-ups;
• a user interface implementing a user data acquisition system to obtain perceived sleep data from the user after the sleep session, the perceived sleep data including when the user went to sleep, when the user woke up, how often the user woke during the sleep session, and a restfulness of the sleep session;
• a server system implementing a predictive engine to generate predicted sleep data for the user, based on user background data and transactional data reflecting one or more medical interventions for the user, and medical protocols associated with the one or more medical interventions;
• a server implementing a compliance and effectiveness tracking engine (CETE) to compare the processed sensed sleep data, the perceived sleep data, and the predicted sleep data, and to determine effectiveness of the medical intervention for the user, and compliance with the medical protocol associated with the medical intervention.
