Leaf color pattern creation

A device for altering biochrome content in plant leaves, the device comprising:

• a. a light source;
• b. means of directing the light source to deliver an altering spectrum to a group of cells;
• wherein the altering spectrum alters the biochrome content of a group of cells to produce a contrasting color that creates a desired pattern on a leaf;
• and
• c. a panel that separates the light source from the leaf, wherein the panel comprises a phosphor portion that converts a portion of the altering spectrum to a spectrum elsewhere within the photosynthetically active region.

A device for altering biochrome content in plant leaves, the device comprising:

• a. a light source;
• b. means of directing the light source to deliver an altering spectrum to a group of cells;
• wherein the altering spectrum alters the biochrome content of a group of cells to produce a contrasting color that creates a desired pattern on a leaf;
• and
• c. a filter panel positioned between the light source and leaf, wherein the filter panel is selected from the group consisting of a tinted plastic gel and a hot-mirror.

A device for altering biochrome content in plant leaves, the device comprising:

• a. a light source, wherein the light source is a laser;
• and
• b. means of directing the light source to deliver an altering spectrum to a group of cells;
• wherein the altering spectrum alters the biochrome content of a group of cells to produce a contrasting color that creates a desired pattern on a leaf;
• wherein the laser source comprises a sensor, and wherein the sensor detects the contrasting color of the group of cells to facilitate determination if further illumination from the light source is required to meet a targeted biochrome ratio.

A device for altering biochrome content in plant leaves, the device comprising:

• a. a light source, wherein the light source is a laser;
• b. means of directing the light source to deliver an altering spectrum to a group of cells;
• wherein the altering spectrum alters the biochrome content of a group of cells to produce a contrasting color that creates a desired pattern on a leaf;
• and
• c. a selective reflector, wherein the selective reflector reflects the altering spectrum back into the leaf.
