Abstract
Shock absorber assembly structures are disclosed. An example shock absorber disclosed herein includes a shock absorber mount coupled to an end of the shock absorber, the shock absorber mount including a recess to receive a locating rib of a vehicle body, and an aperture to receive a fastener to couple the shock absorber mount to an attachment boss of the vehicle body.
Claims20
A shock absorber comprising:
- a shock absorber mount coupled to an end of the shock absorber, the shock absorber mount including:
- a recess to receive a locating rib of a vehicle body;
- and
- an aperture to receive a fastener to couple the shock absorber mount to an attachment boss of the vehicle body, the aperture positioned in an angled surface of the shock absorber mount, an angle between the angled surface and a longitudinal axis of the shock absorber being acute.

A method comprising:
- forming a recess in a shock absorber mount of a shock absorber, the recess to receive a locating rib of a vehicle body;
- and
- providing an aperture in the shock absorber mount, the aperture to receive a fastener to couple the shock absorber mount to an attachment boss of the vehicle body, the aperture positioned in an angled surface of the shock absorber mount, an angle between the angled surface and a longitudinal axis of the shock absorber being acute.
A shock absorber comprising:
- a cylindrical body;
- and
- a mount integrally formed with the cylindrical body, the mount including:
- a recess to interface with a protrusion of a longitudinal structural member of a vehicle;
- and
- an aperture to receive a fastener to affix the mount to an attachment boss of the longitudinal structural member, the aperture positioned in an angled surface of the mount, an angle between the angled surface and a longitudinal axis of the cylindrical body being acute.
