Abstract
A grill-cleaning tool has a water-absorbent layer fabricated from a material that is suitable for transferring a volume of water. A fire-resistant layer is disposed outwardly of the water absorbent layer. A scrubbing outer layer fabricated from a metallic-mesh material covers both the fire-resistant layer and the water-absorbent layer. The water-absorbent layer and the heat-resistant layer may be incorporated into a single unit or may be separate layers. Fasteners are provided for assembling the layers together to form an assembled grill-cleaning tool.
Claims31
A tool for cleaning a hot grill, comprising:
- a support block having a first side and a second side that is opposite the first side, wherein at least a first recessed compartment is formed within the first side for transferring a first volume of water and at least a second recessed compartment is formed within the second side for transferring a second volume of water;
- a water-absorbent layer carried by and at least partially surrounding the support block, the water-absorbent layer fabricated from a material that is suitable for transferring a third volume of water;
- an abrasive or scrubbing outer layer at least partially covering the water-absorbent layer, and
- a fire-resistant layer disposed outwardly of the water-absorbent layer,
- wherein, during use, at least some of the first volume of water and/or at least some of the second volume of water is transferred to the hot grill, in addition to at least some of the third volume of water, for generating steam for use in cleaning the hot grill and,
- wherein the abrasive or scrubbing outer layer covers both the fire-resistant layer and the water-absorbent layer.
A tool for cleaning a hot grill, comprising:
- a support block having a first side and a second side that is opposite the first side, wherein at least a first recessed compartment is formed within the first side for transferring a first volume of water and at least a second recessed compartment is formed within the second side for transferring a second volume of water;
- a water-absorbent layer carried by and at least partially surrounding the support block, the water-absorbent layer fabricated from a material that is suitable for transferring a third volume of water;
- an abrasive or scrubbing outer layer at least partially covering the water-absorbent layer;
- and
- an inner support layer disposed inwardly of the water-absorbent layer;
- wherein the inner support layer has a plurality of outwardly facing grooves, each groove being disposed between a pair of ridges that are deformable when pressed against a surface of the hot grill that is being cleaned, and
- wherein, during use, at least some of the first volume of water and/or at least some of the second volume of water is transferred to the hot grill, in addition to at least some of the third volume of water, for generating steam for use in cleaning the hot grill.
A tool for cleaning a hot grill, comprising:
- a support block having a first side and a second side that is opposite the first side, wherein at least a first recessed compartment is formed within the first side for transferring a first volume of water and at least a second recessed compartment is formed within the second side for transferring a second volume of water;
- a water-absorbent layer carried by and at least partially surrounding the support block, the water-absorbent layer fabricated from a material that is suitable for transferring a third volume of water;
- an abrasive or scrubbing outer layer at least partially covering the water-absorbent layer;
- and
- an inner support layer disposed inwardly of the water-absorbent layer;
