Methods and systems for operating a printer apparatus

A method for operating a printer apparatus, the method comprising:

• receiving, from the printing apparatus, data pertaining to each heating element in a first set of heating elements, wherein the first set of heating elements are located in a print head of the printing apparatus;
• creating a print job based on data to be printed;
• analyzing the print job, based on the received data pertaining to each heating element and the data to be printed, to identify whether printing of the print job will lead to overutilization of the first set of heating elements;
• generating one or more print job recommendations to modify the print job if it is determined that the print job will lead to overutilization of the first set of heating elements;
• displaying the one or more print job recommendations to a user for allowing the user to select a print job recommendation or automatically selecting a print job recommendation to modify the print job.

A computer program product comprising at least one non-transitory computer readable storage medium having computer-executable program code instruction stored therein, the computer-executable program code instructions comprising program code instructions for:

• monitoring a utilization rate of each heating element in a first set of heating elements defined by a print head arrangement;
• generating a utilization dataset based upon monitoring of the utilization rate of each heating element in the first set of heating elements;
• create a print job based on data to be printed;
• analyze the print job, based on the utilization dataset and the data to be printed, to identify whether printing of the print job will lead to overutilization of the first set of heating elements.
