A novel method of producing 1-chloro-3-(4-chlorophenoxy)benzene can include performing hydrogenation reduction of 1-bromo-2-chloro-4-(4-chlorophenoxy)benzene or 1-bromo-4-chloro-2-(4-chlorophenoxy)benzene.

A method of producing 1-chloro-3-(4-chlorophenoxy)benzene, wherein 1-chloro-3-(4-chlorophenoxy)benzene is obtained by performing hydrogenation reduction of 1-bromo-2-chloro-4-(4-chlorophenoxy)benzene or 1 -bromo-4-chloro-2-(4-chlorophenoxy)benzene.
