Abstract
An information processing apparatus capable of communicating using a first communication method and communicating using a second communication method performs, in a case where attempting processing fails to establish a connection with a communication apparatus using the first communication method without using an external apparatus, communication with the communication apparatus by the second communication method and transmits a job to the communication apparatus via the connection with the communication apparatus using the first communication method, the communication being used to establish the connection with the communication apparatus using the first communication method.
Claims21
A control method of an information processing apparatus capable of communicating using a first communication method and communicating using a second communication method, the control method comprising:
- performing a search for a communication apparatus on a network using the first communication method;
- performing, by using the second communication method, predetermined communication for establishing a connection with the communication apparatus using the first communication method, based on not finding the communication apparatus on the network using the first communication method;
- obtaining information about a capability of the communication apparatus via the connection with the communication apparatus using the first communication method, the connection being established by the predetermined communication;
- accepting, after obtaining the information about the capability of the communication apparatus, a communication instruction from a user for communicating predetermined data;
- and
- communicating the predetermined data with the communication apparatus via the connection established with the communication apparatus using the first communication method in a case that the communication instruction is accepted.
An information processing apparatus capable of communicating using a first communication method and communicating using a second communication method, comprising:
- a search unit configured to perform a search for a communication apparatus on a network using the first communication method;
- a communication unit configured to perform, by using the second communication method, predetermined communication for establishing a connection with the communication apparatus using the first communication method, based on not finding the communication apparatus on the network using the first communication method;
- an information obtaining unit configured to obtain information about a capability of the communication apparatus via the connection with the communication apparatus using the first communication method, the connection being established by the predetermined communication;
- an acceptance unit configured to accept, after obtaining the information about the capability of the communication apparatus, a communication instruction from a user for communicating predetermined data;
- and
- a communication unit configured to communicate the predetermined data with the communication apparatus via the connection established with the communication apparatus using the first communication method in a case that the communication instruction is accepted.
