Abstract
An augmented reality system for procedural guidance identifies a fiducial marker object in a frame of a first field of view generated by a camera, determines a pose of the fiducial marker object, applies the fiducial marker pose to generate a first transformation between a first coordinate system of the fiducial marker object and a second coordinate system of the camera, and applies a pose of a headset to determine a second transformation between the first coordinate system and a third coordinate system of the headset.
Claims20
An augmented reality system comprising:
- at least one fixed position camera oriented at a workspace, the at least one fixed position camera comprising:
- a first field of view and a depth sensor;
- at least one mobile headset comprising a mobile camera and a second field of view;
- logic to:
- identify a fiducial marker object in a frame of the first field of view;
- determine a pose of the fiducial marker object in the first field of view;
- apply the fiducial marker pose in the first field of view to generate a first transformation between a first coordinate system of the fiducial marker object and a second coordinate system of the fixed position camera;
- and
- apply a pose of a mobile headset to determine a second transformation between the first coordinate system and a third coordinate system of the mobile headset.
A method for generating virtual augmentations in a headset, the method comprising:
- identifying a fiducial marker object in a frame of a first field of view generated by a first camera;
- determining a pose of the fiducial marker object;
- applying the fiducial marker pose to generate a first transformation between a first coordinate system of the fiducial marker object and a second coordinate system of the first camera;
- and
- applying a pose of a mobile headset to determine a second transformation between the first coordinate system and a third coordinate system of a display utilized in the headset.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more machine processors, result in:
- identifying a fiducial marker object in a frame of a first field of view generated by a first camera;
- determining a pose of the fiducial marker object;
- applying the fiducial marker pose to generate a first transformation between a first coordinate system of the fiducial marker object and a second coordinate system of the first camera;
- and
- applying a pose of a mobile headset to determine a second transformation between the first coordinate system and a third coordinate system of a display utilized in the mobile headset.
