A controller for use in interfacing with a virtual reality system is provided. The controller having a body with a proximate end and a distal end, and the distal end is opposite the proximate end. A handgrip portion of the body is disposed at the proximate end of the body. An extension portion of the body is coupled at the distal end of the body. The extension portion has a loop shape. A plurality of lights is disposed on a surface of the extension portion, such that lights illuminate at least part of the loop shape.
Claims21
A controller for use in interfacing with a virtual reality system, comprising,
- a body configured to house a inertial sensor and electronics for wireless communication;
- a handgrip portion of the body;
- buttons disposed on the body proximate to the handgrip;
- a loop portion of the body disposed adjacent to the handgrip portion, the loop portion includes a first extension portion that extends away from the handgrip portion and a second extension portion that extends away from the handgrip portion, the first extension portion and the second extension portion are substantially rounded and integrally joined to form the loop portion;
- and
- two or more lights disposed in the loop portion and configured to illuminate a portion of the loop portion, wherein one of the two or more lights illuminate along an inside surface of the loop portion and one of the two or more lights illuminate along an outside surface of the loop portion.
A controller for use in interfacing with a virtual reality system, comprising,
- a body of the controller, including,
- a handle portion of the body;
- an extension portion extending proximate to an end of the handle, the extension portion having a loop shape, the extension portion includes a first extension portion that extends from the handle portion and a second extension portion that extends from the handle portion, the first extension portion and the second extension portion are substantially rounded and integrally joined to form the loop shape;
- and
- a plurality of lights disposed on a surface of the loop shape, such that lights illuminate at least part of the loop shape, wherein one of the plurality of lights illuminate along an inside surface of the loop shape and one of the plurality of lights illuminate along an outside surface of the loop shape.
