Abstract
Recommending and activating scenes in a multimedia system are provided. The techniques of the present disclosure can allow the states of the components in the multimedia system to be captured in a scene. Once the scene has been saved, the scene can be activated at a later time. A controller device for recommending scenes by comparing the current state with states of components in saved scenes is also provided. The controller device can also determine if media is playing in a current scene, and activate a selected scene without playing the media content. Once the selected scene is activated, the media playing in the current scene can be switched, and the media playing in the selected scene can be played.
Claims20
A method for managing locations of components, the method comprising, at a computing device:
- identifying a location of the computing device;
- receiving respective signals from a plurality of components that are within communicable range of the computing device;
- determining respective signal strengths of the respective signals;
- filtering the plurality of components based on the respective signal strengths to produce a filtered plurality of components;
- associating the filtered plurality of components with the location;
- and
- generating an internal map of a multi-room structure that includes at least the location and the filtered plurality of components.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium configured to store instructions that, when executed by a processor included in a computing device, cause the computing device to manage locations of components, by carrying out steps that include:
- identifying a location of the computing device;
- receiving respective signals from a plurality of components that are within communicable range of the computing device;
- determining respective signal strengths of the respective signals;
- filtering the plurality of components based on the respective signal strengths to produce a filtered plurality of components;
- associating the filtered plurality of components with the location;
- and
- generating an internal map of a multi-room structure that includes at least the location and the filtered plurality of components.
A computing device configured to manage locations of components, the computing device comprising a processor configured to cause the computing device to carry out steps that include:
- identifying a location of the computing device;
- receiving respective signals from a plurality of components that are within communicable range of the computing device;
- determining respective signal strengths of the respective signals;
- filtering the plurality of components based on the respective signal strengths to produce a filtered plurality of components;
- associating the filtered plurality of components with the location;
- and
- generating an internal map of a multi-room structure that includes at least the location and the filtered plurality of components.
