Abstract
A method for dispensing a beverage from a bottle that includes communicating a dispensing authorization message from a control unit to at least one of a server interface carried by a beverage server and a pour spout secured to a bottle, wherein the dispensing authorization message at least one of includes or initiates a dispensing command, and wherein the pour spout responds to the dispensing command by opening a spout valve through which a beverage flows from the bottle and out of the pour spout.
Claims10
A system for dispensing a beverage from a bottle comprising:
- a pour spout adapted to be attached to the bottle and having a first transceiver for wireless communication, a first controller connected to the first transceiver, and a valve operated by the first controller to control flow of the beverage from the bottle through the spout in response to a first message received by the first transceiver;
- an interface adapted to be carried by a person and comprising a second transceiver for wirelessly transmitting the first message, wherein the interface includes a second controller and one or more selectable inputs for the person who carries the interface to select by actuation;
- and
- a control unit for wirelessly communicating with the second transceiver of the interface, wherein the control unit sends a second message to the interface which responds by transmitting the first message to the pour spout.
