Display dependent analytics

In a data-communications system including a data-communications server being configured to operate on behalf of a data-communications service provider for providing data-communications services to a plurality of client entities, each of the plurality of client entities being associated with a communications device that includes circuitry to enable communications over the Internet, an apparatus comprising:

• an interface circuit configured with the data-communications server to convey, for one of the plurality of client entities, a request for analytics data and a parameter of interest;
• a computer-processor circuit to process the request for analytics data and the parameter of interest by operating or communicating with analytics circuitry to evaluate data associated with the parameter of interest in connection with the data-communications services and by
• generating and evaluating a set of summary metrics including metrics concerning data communications that are routed by the data-communications server and that involve the communications device and, in response, generate a respective set of analytics data;
• modifying the parameter of interest in response to the generated respective set of analytics data for the communications device;
• and
• providing an alert in response to the generated analytics data satisfying a set of criteria specified by or on behalf of the communications device wherein the set of criteria is specified with one or more conditions, and wherein the computer-processor circuit is to generate one or more alerts, include the aforesaid alert, in response to said one or more conditions being satisfied;
• and
• using data provided by the analytics circuitry to improve performance or accuracy of data generated by the computer-processor circuit for further processing of the analytics data and the parameter of interest.
