Abstract
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Techniques to use capability information for user equipment in wide band systems such as millimeter wave systems. The capability information can include information indicative of support for limited non-contiguous intra-band carrier aggregation. The capability information can include information indicative of support for sharing time and frequency tracking information between cells.
Claims20
A method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), the method comprising:
- communicating information indicating a capability of the UE to support sharing of time and frequency tracking information between at least a first component carrier for a first cell and a second component carrier for a second cell in a carrier aggregation communication process, wherein the time and frequency tracking information is information to track time, information to track frequency, or both;
- receiving a first signal from the first cell including a synchronization signal block (SS block) including first time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell, a tracking reference signal (TRS) including the first time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell, or both;
- and
- processing a second signal received from the second cell using second time and frequency tracking information associated with the second cell that is based at least in part on the first time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell.
A user equipment comprising:
- memory circuitry;
- transceiver circuitry;
- antenna circuitry;
- and processor circuitry coupled to the memory circuitry, the transceiver circuitry, and the antenna circuitry, wherein the processor circuitry, the memory circuitry, the transceiver circuitry, and the antenna circuitry are configured to cause the user equipment to:
- communicate capability information indicative of support for sharing of time and frequency tracking information between at least a first component carrier for a first cell and a second component carrier for a second cell, wherein the time and frequency tracking information is information to track time, information to track frequency, or both;
- receive a first signal from the first cell including a synchronization signal block (SS block) including first time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell, a tracking reference signal (TRS) including the first time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell, or both;
- and
- process a second signal received from the second cell using second time and frequency tracking information associated with the second cell that is based at least in part on the first time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell.
A user equipment comprising:
- means for communicating capability information indicative of support for sharing of time and frequency tracking information between at least a first component carrier for a first cell and a second component carrier for a second cell, wherein the time and frequency tracking information is information to track time, information to track frequency, or both;
- means for receiving a first signal from the first cell including a synchronization signal block (SS block) including first time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell, a tracking reference signal (TRS) including the first time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell, or both;
- and
- means for processing a second signal received from the second cell using second time and frequency tracking information associated with the second cell that is based at least in part on the first time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell.
A method of wireless communication at a base station comprising:
- receiving capability information from a user equipment (UE), wherein the capability information indicative of support for sharing of time and frequency tracking information between at least a first component carrier for a first cell and a second component carrier for a second cell, wherein the time and frequency tracking information is information to track time, information to track frequency, or both;
- and
- transmitting, based at least in part on the capability information, a first signal on the first cell including the time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell;
- and
- transmitting, based at least in part on the capability information, a second signal on the second cell omitting at least some of the time and frequency tracking information associated with the second cell.
A base station comprising:
- memory circuitry;
- transceiver circuitry;
- antenna circuitry;
- and processor circuitry coupled to the memory circuitry, the transceiver circuitry, and antenna circuitry, wherein the processor circuitry, the memory circuitry, the transceiver circuitry, and the antenna circuitry are configured to cause the base station to:
- receive capability information from a user equipment (UE), wherein the capability information indicative of support for sharing of time and frequency tracking information between at least a first component carrier for a first cell and a second component carrier for a second cell, wherein the time and frequency tracking information is information to track time, information to track frequency, or both;
- and
- transmit, based at least in part on the capability information, a first signal on the first cell including the time and frequency tracking information associated with the first cell;
- and
- transmit, based at least in part on the capability information, a second signal on the second cell omitting at least some of the time and frequency tracking information associated with the second cell.
