Abstract
A method and apparatus are provided for identifying In-Call capability features. The method includes sending, by a Mobile Originated (MO), a call request message to a Mobile Terminated (MT), wherein the call request message comprises information regarding In-Call capability features of the MO; receiving, by the MO, a call response message from the MT, wherein the call response message comprises information regarding In-Call capability features of the MT; and performing, by the MO, In-Call capability negotiation with the MT.
Claims19
A method of identifying in-call capability features performed by a mobile originated (MO) device, the method comprising:
- transmitting, to a mobile terminated (MT) device, a call request message, wherein the call request message includes information regarding the in-call capability features of the MO device,
- wherein in case that the MO device and the MT device support that at least one voice over long term evolution (VOLTE) based service and at least one rich communication suite (RCS) based service are provided on a single packet data network (PDN) the information regarding in-call capability features is included in a contact header of the call request message, and
- wherein in case that at least one of the MO device, or the MT device supports that the at least VOLTE based service and the at least one RCS based service are provided on two different PDNs, the information regarding in-call capability features is included in a session initiation protocol (SIP) private extension header of the call request message;
- receiving, from the MT device, a call response message based on the call request message, wherein the call response message includes information regarding in-call capability features of the MT device;
- and
- performing in-call capability negotiation with the MT device based on the call request message and the call response message.
A method of identifying in-call capability features performed by a mobile terminated (MT) device, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a mobile originated (MO) device, a call request message, wherein the call request message includes information regarding in-call capability features of the MO device,
- wherein in case that the MO device and the MT device support that at least one voice over long term evolution (VOLTE) based service and at least one rich communication suite (RCS) based service are provided on a single packet data network (PDN) the information regarding in-call capability features is included in a contact header of the call request message, and
- wherein in case that at least one of the MO device, or the MT device supports that the at least VOLTE based service and the at least one RCS based service are provided on two different PDNs, the information regarding in-call capability features is included in a session initiation protocol, SIP, private extension header of the call request message;
- and
- transmitting, to the MO device, a call response message including information regarding the in-call capability features of the MT device based on the call request message.
A mobile originated (MO) device for identifying in-call capability features, the MO device comprising:
- a communicator;
- and
- a processor, coupled to the communicator, configured to:
- transmit, to a mobile terminated (MT) device a call request message, wherein the call request message includes information regarding in-call capability features of the MO device,
- wherein in case that the MO device and the MT device support that at least one voice over long term evolution (VOLTE) based service and at least one rich communication suite (RCS) based service are provided on a single packet data network (PDN) the information regarding in-call capability features is included in a contact header of the call request message, and
- wherein in case that at least one of the MO device, or the MT device supports that the at least VOLTE based service and the at least one RCS based service are provided on two different PDNs, the information regarding in-call capability features is included in a session initiation protocol (SIP) private extension header of the call request message;
- receive, from the MT device, a call response message based on the call request message, wherein the call response message includes information regarding the in-call capability features of the MT device;
- and
- perform in-call capability negotiation with the MT device based on the call request message and the call response message.
A mobile terminated (MT) device for identifying in-call capability features, the MT device comprising:
- a communicator;
- and
- a processor, coupled to the communicator, configured to:
- receive, from a mobile originated (MO) device, a call request message, wherein the call request message includes information regarding in-call capability features of the MO device,
- wherein in case that the MO device and the MT device support that at least one voice over long term evolution (VOLTE) based service and at least one rich communication suite (RCS) based service are provided on a single packet data network (PDN) the information regarding in-call capability features is included in a contact header of the call request message, and
- wherein in case that at least one of the MO device, or the MT device supports that the at least VOLTE based service and the at least one RCS based service are provided on two different PDNs, the information regarding in-call capability features is included in a session initiation protocol (SIP) private extension header of the call request message;
- and
- transmit, to the MO device, a call response message including information regarding the in-call capability features of the MT device based on the call request message.
