Abstract
Provided are organometallic compounds including a ligand LA of Formula I
Claims20
A compound comprising a ligand LA of Formula I
- wherein:
- moiety A is a monocyclic or multicyclic ring structure comprising 5-membered and/or 6-membered carbocyclic or heterocyclic rings;
- Z1, and Z2 are each independently C or N;
- K3, and K4 are each independently a direct bond, O, or S;
- X1, and X2 are each independently C or N, and one of X1 or X2 is C when it is connected to Z2, and the other of X1 or X2 is connected to K3;
- X3-X7 are each independently CR or N;
- the maximum number of N within a ring is 2;
- RA represents zero, mono, or up to a maximum allowed substitution to its associated ring;
- R and RA are each independently a hydrogen or a substituent selected from the group consisting of deuterium, halogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, heteroalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, arylalkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, amino, silyl, boryl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, heteroalkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, heteroaryl, acyl, carboxylic acid, ether, ester, nitrile, isonitrile, sulfanyl, sulfinyl, sulfonyl, phosphino, and combinations thereof;
- and
- two substituents can be joined or fused to form a ring where chemically feasible,
- wherein the ligand LA is coordinated to a metal M through the two indicated dashed lines;
- wherein the metal M can be coordinated to other ligands;
- and
- wherein the ligand LA can be linked with other ligands to form a tridentate, tetradentate, pentadentate, or hexadentate ligand.
