Abstract
A novel maize variety designated PH4CWP and seed, plants and plant parts thereof are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant comprise crossing maize variety PH4CWP with another maize plant are provided. Methods for producing a maize plant containing in its genetic material one or more traits introgressed into PH4CWP through backcross conversion and/or transformation, and to the maize seed, plant and plant part produced thereby are provided. Hybrid maize seed, plants or plant parts are produced by crossing the variety PH4CWP or a locus conversion of PH4CWP with another maize variety.
Claims20
A seed, plant, plant part, or plant cell of inbred maize variety PH4CWP, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under NCMA accession number 202205185.
A converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell of inbred maize variety PH4CWP, representative seed of the maize variety PH4CWP having been deposited under NCMA accession number 202205185, wherein the converted seed, plant, plant part or plant cell comprises fewer than six locus conversions, and wherein the plant or a plant grown from the converted seed, plant part or plant cell comprises the fewer than six locus conversions and otherwise comprises the physiological and morphological characteristics of maize variety PH4CWP when grown under the same environmental conditions, and further wherein the fewer than six locus conversion confer a property selected from the group consisting of male sterility, a site for site-specific recombination, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphate, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide tolerance, insect resistance and disease resistance.
An F1 hybrid seed produced by crossing a plant or plant part of inbred maize variety PH4CWP, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under NCMA accession number 202205185 with a different maize plant, wherein inbred maize variety PH4CWP further comprises a transgene that is inherited by the seed, wherein the transgene was introduced into inbred maize variety PH4CWP by backcrossing or genetic transformation.
