Random access procedure for CV2X

A host wireless device for wireless communications, comprising:

• a memory storing processor executable instructions;
• and
• at least one processor in communication with the memory, wherein the processor is configured to execute the instructions to:
• transmit a discovery message;
• receive, at the host wireless device, a random access channel (RACH) preamble on a first time domain resource from a client wireless device;
• and
• receive, at the host wireless device, a second RACH message from the client wireless device on a second time domain resource after the first time domain resource in response to transmitting the discovery message, the second time domain resource being defined by a mapping from the first time domain resource.

A host wireless device for wireless communications, comprising:

• means for transmitting, by the host wireless device, a discovery message;
• means for receiving, at the host wireless device, a random access channel (RACH) preamble on a first time domain resource from a client wireless device;
• and
• means for receiving, at the host wireless device, a second RACH message from the client wireless device on a second time domain resource after the first time domain resource, the second time domain resource being defined by a mapping from the first time domain resource, wherein the means for receiving the second RACH message is configured to receive the second RACH message in response to transmitting the discovery message.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer code executable by a processor for wireless communications, comprising code to:

• transmit a discovery message;
• receive, at a host device, a random access channel (RACH) preamble on a first time domain resource from a client wireless device;
• and
• receive, at the host device, a second RACH message from the client wireless device on a second time domain resource after the first time domain resource in response to the discovery message, the second time domain resource being defined by a mapping from the first time domain resource.
