Abstract
Various solutions for single network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI) based congestion control with respect to user equipment and network apparatus in mobile communications are described. An apparatus may receive a message with a back-off timer from the network node. The apparatus may determine whether an S-NSSAI of a protocol data unit (PDU) session is provided by the network node. The apparatus may start the back-off timer and associate the back-off timer with the S-NSSAI of the PDU session in an event that the S-NSSAI is provided by the network node.
Claims13
A method, comprising:
- receiving, by a processor of an apparatus, a 5th generation session management (5GSM) message with a back-off timer from a network node of a wireless network;
- starting, by the processor, the back-off timer;
- associating, by the processor, the back-off timer with a mapped home public land mobile network (HPLMN) single-network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI) part of a valid S-NSSAI value provided by the apparatus to the wireless network;
- and
- in an event that the apparatus is in a roaming scenario:
- determining, by the processor, whether a mapped HPLMN S-NSSAI of a protocol data unit (PDU) session of the 5GSM message is same as the mapped HPLMN S-NSSAI part of the valid S-NSSAI value associated with the back-off timer;
- and
- stopping, by the processor, the back-off timer responsive to a positive result from the determining;
- in an event that the apparatus is in a non-roaming scenario:
- determining, by the processor, whether a mapped HPLMN S-NSSAI or serving PLMN S-NSSAI of the PDU session of the 5GSM message is same as the mapped HPLMN S-NSSAI part of the valid S-NSSAI value associated with the back-off timer;
- and
- stopping, by the processor, the back-off timer responsive to a positive result from the determining.
A method, comprising:
- receiving, by a processor of an apparatus, a 5th generation session management (5GSM) message with a back-off timer from a network node of a wireless network;
- starting, by the processor, the back-off timer associated with a mapped home public land mobile network (HPLMN) single-network slice selection assistance information (S-NSSAI) part of a valid S-NSSAI value provided by the apparatus to the wireless network;
- determining, by the processor, whether an S-NSSAI of a request message is the S-NSSAI associated with the back-off timer;
- forbidding, by the processor, a transmission of the request message in an event that the S-NSSAI of the request message is the S-NSSAI associated with the back-off timer;
- in an event that the apparatus is in a roaming scenario:
- determining, by the processor, whether a mapped HPLMN S-NSSAI of a protocol data unit (PDU) session of the 5GSM message is same as the mapped HPLMN S-NSSAI part of the valid S-NSSAI value associated with the back-off timer;
- and stopping, by the processor, the back-off timer responsive to a positive result from the determining;
- in an event that the apparatus is in a non-roaming scenario:
- determining, by the processor, whether the mapped HPLMN S-NSSAI or a serving PLMN S-NSSAI of the PDU session of the 5GSM message is same as the mapped HPLMN S-NSSAI part of the valid S-NSSAI value associated with the back-off timer;
- and stopping, by the processor, the back-off timer responsive to a positive result from the determining.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a transceiver which, during operation, wirelessly communicates with a network node of a wireless network;

- starting the back-off timer;
- associating the back-off timer with a mapped home public land mobile network (HPLMN) S-NSSAI part of a valid S-NSSAI value provided by the apparatus to the wireless network;
- and
