Abstract
The present invention provides a method of how the serving base station notifies UE of the encryption information used in the re-establishment process, how the serving base station finds the UE context information and authenticates the UE, in the 5G architecture. By means of the method of the present invention, the message between the RRC message and the base station can be optimized, the UE is correctly authenticated, and the re-establishment failure is avoided.
Claims20
A method performed by a second base station (BS) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- identifying a user equipment (UE) context request message based on whether a radio resource control (RRC) connection is requested to be resumed or re-established;
- transmitting, to a first BS corresponding to a first cell with which a UE last had an active RRC connection, the UE context request message including information used for identifying UE context and information used for verifying the UE, wherein the UE context request message indicates whether the RRC connection is requested to be resumed or re-established and the information used for verifying the UE is based on whether the RRC connection is to be resumed or re-established;
- and
- receiving, from the first BS, a UE context request response message including the UE context, based on the UE context request message.
A method performed by a first base station (BS) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a second BS, a user equipment (UE) context request message including information used for identifying UE context and information used for verifying a UE that had an active radio resource control (RRC) connection with the first BS, wherein the UE context request message is identified based on whether an RRC connection is requested to be resumed or re-established, and wherein the UE context request message indicates whether the RRC connection is requested to be resumed or re-established and the information used for verifying the UE is based on whether the RRC connection is to be resumed or re-established;
- identifying the UE context and verifying the UE, based on the UE context request message;
- and
- transmitting, to the second BS, a UE context request response message including the UE context based on the identifying and the verifying.
A second base station (BS) in a wireless communication system, the second BS comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor configured to:
- identify a user equipment (UE) context request message based on whether a radio resource control (RRC) connection is requested to be resumed or re-established;
- transmit, to a first BS corresponding to a first cell with which a UE last had an active RRC connection via the transceiver, the UE context request message including information used for identifying UE context and information used for verifying the UE, wherein the UE context request message indicates whether the RRC connection is requested to be resumed or re-established and the information used for verifying the UE is based on whether the RRC connection is to be resumed or re-established;
- and
- receive, from the first BS via the transceiver, a UE context request response message including the UE context, based on the UE context request message.
A first base station (BS) in a wireless communication system, the first BS comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor configured to:
- receive, from a second BS via the transceiver, a user equipment (UE) context request message including information used for identifying UE context and information used for verifying a UE that had an active radio resource control (RRC) connection with the first BS, wherein the UE context request message is identified based on whether an RRC connection is requested to be resumed or re-established, and wherein the UE context request message indicates whether the RRC connection is requested to be resumed or re-established and the information used for verifying the UE is based on whether the RRC connection is to be resumed or re-established;
- identify the UE context and verifying the UE, based on the UE context request message;
- and
- transmit, to the second BS via the transceiver, a UE context request response message including the UE context based on the identifying and the verifying.
