Abstract
Correcting engagement of a user in a video conference includes: receiving video data of a user of a participant device of a video conference; determining that one or more visual characteristics of the video data satisfy one or more criteria; and displaying, by the participant device, a visual overlay in response to the one or more criteria being satisfied.
Claims20
A computer implemented method of correcting engagement of a user in a video conference, the method comprising:
- receiving video data of a user of a participant device of a video conference;
- determining that one or more visual characteristics of the video data satisfy one or more criteria, the determining including providing video data of the user to a plurality of classifier models, each classifier model trained to determine user engagement with the video conference based on a different one of the one or more visual characteristics;
- and
- providing, to the participant device, an indicator to display a visual overlay in response to the one or more criteria being satisfied.
An apparatus for correcting engagement of a user in a video conference, the apparatus comprising:
- a computer processor;
- and
- a computer memory, the computer memory including computer program instructions that, when executed by the computer processor, cause the computer processor to carry out:
- receiving video data of a user of a participant device of a video conference;
- determining that one or more visual characteristics of the video data satisfy one or more criteria, the determining including providing video data of the user to a plurality of classifier models, each classifier model trained to determine user engagement with the video conference based on a different one of the one or more visual characteristics;
- and
- displaying a visual overlay in response to the one or more criteria being satisfied.
A computer program product disposed upon a non-transitory computer readable medium, the computer program product comprising computer program instructions for correcting engagement of a user in a video conference that, when executed, cause a computer system to perform steps comprising:
- receiving video data of a user of a participant device of a video conference;
- determining that one or more visual characteristics of the video data satisfy one or more criteria, the determining including providing video data of the user to a plurality of classifier models, each classifier model trained to determine user engagement with the video conference based on a different one of the one or more visual characteristics;
- and
- displaying a visual overlay in response to the one or more criteria being satisfied.
