A method for running a conference application before joining a network conference, the method comprising:
- initiating a conference system with application support (CSAS) client application including a capability to provide audio and video information exchange functionality over a network;
- displaying a plurality of conference applications after initiating the CSAS client application, each of the plurality of conference applications configured to provide a type of functionality other than providing audio and video information exchange;
- activating a conference application, by the CSAS client application, from the plurality of conference applications before joining a network conference;
- joining the network conference using the CSAS client application while the conference application is running;
- and
- leaving the network conference while the conference application continues running.
An apparatus for running a conference application before joining a network conference, the apparatus comprising:
- a storage configured to store a plurality of conference applications;
- and
- a processor configured to:
- initiate a conference system with application support (CSAS) client application including a capability to provide audio and video information exchange functionality over a network;
- display the plurality of conference applications after initiating the CSAS client application, each of the plurality of conference applications configured to provide a type of functionality other than providing audio and video information exchange;
- activate a conference application, by the CSAS client application, from the plurality of conference applications before joining a network conference;
- join the network conference using the CSAS client application while the conference application is running;
- and
- leave the network conference while the conference application continues running.
A non-transitory computer readable medium on which are stored program instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations of:
- initiating a conference system with application support (CSAS) client application including a capability to provide audio and video information exchange functionality over a network;
- displaying a plurality of conference applications after initiating the CSAS client application, each of the plurality of conference applications configured to provide a type of functionality other than providing audio and video information exchange;
- activating a conference application, by the CSAS client application, from the plurality of conference applications before joining a network conference;
- joining the network conference using the CSAS client application while the conference application is running;
- and
- leaving the network conference while the conference application continues running.
