Sharing authentication between applications

A device, comprising:

• a non-transitory memory storing instructions;
• and
• a processor configured to execute the instructions to cause the device to:
• display, via a graphical user interface (GUI) the device of a user, a plurality of icons on a home screen of the GUI, a first icon of the plurality of icons configured to launch a first application upon user selection of the first icon, a second icon of the plurality of icons configured to launch a second application upon another user selection of the second icon, the first icon associated with a first user account, at a first service provider, of the user, the second icon associated a second user account of the user at a second service provider;
• access a user input indicating a first gesture via the GUI, the first gesture associating the first icon with the second icon on the home screen, the user input being a different input type from the user selection of the first icon and not causing the launch of the first application;
• determining that the user input indicates a request to use a first authentication of a user at the first application for authentication of the user at the second application;
• accessing a communication application to verify an identity token associated with the first service provider with the second service provider;
• and
• responsive to the verification of the identity token with the second service provider, sharing the first authentication with the second application, wherein the sharing the first authentication authorizes the user to access the second user account at the second application.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a machine to perform operations comprising:

• accessing a user input, via a GUI, to associate a first icon with a second icon on a home screen, the first and second icons displayed on a home screen of via a graphical user interface (GUI) of a mobile device of a user, the first icon of a plurality of icons configured to launch a first application upon user selection of the first icon, the second icon of the plurality of icons configured to launch a second application upon another user selection of the second icon, the first icon associated with a first user account, at a first service provider, of the user, the second icon associated a second user account of the user at a second service provider;
• determining that the user input indicates a request to share a first authentication of a user for a first application with a second application;
• accessing a communication application to verify an identity token associated with the first service provider with the second service provider;
• and
• responsive to the verification of the identity token with the second service provider, sharing the first authentication with the second application, wherein the sharing the first authentication authorizes the user to access the second user account at the second application.
