Modulation and coding scheme configuration determination

A method of wireless communication performed by a first user equipment (UE), comprising:

• determining, by the first UE and for a device-to-device communication with a second UE, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table, of a set of MCS tables, based at least in part on a capability of the second UE and one or more of:
• a packet size of one or more packets that the first UE is to transmit, or
• a packet size that the first UE supports;
• and
• receiving, from the second UE, data using an MCS selected based at least in part on the MCS table.

A first user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• one or more processors, coupled to the memory, configured to:
• determine, by the first UE and for a device-to-device communication with a second UE, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table, of a set of MCS tables, based at least in part on a capability of the second UE and one or more of:
• a packet size of one or more packets that the first UE is to transmit, or
• a packet size that the first UE supports;
• and
• transmit, to the second UE, data using an MCS selected based at least in part on the MCS table.

A first user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• one or more processors, coupled to the memory, configured to:
• determine, by the first UE and for a device-to-device communication with a second UE, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table, of a set of MCS tables, based at least in part on a capability of the second UE and one or more of:
• a packet size of one or more packets that the first UE is to transmit, or
• a packet size that the first UE supports;
• and
• receive, from the other UE, data using an MCS selected based at least in part on the MCS table.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions for wireless communication, the instructions comprising:

• one or more instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a first user equipment (UE), cause the at least one processor to:
• determine, by the first UE and for a device-to-device communication with a second UE, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table, of a set of MCS tables, based at least in part on a capability of the second UE and one or more of:
• a packet size of one or more packets that the first UE is to transmit, or
• a packet size that the first UE supports;
• and
• transmit, to the second UE, data using an MCS selected based at least in part on the MCS table.

A first user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:

• means for determining, by the first UE and for a device-to-device communication with a second UE, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table, of a set of MCS tables, based at least in part on a capability of the second UE and one or more of:
• a packet size of one or more packets that the first UE is to transmit, or
• a packet size that the first UE supports;
• and
• means for transmitting, to the second UE, data using an MCS selected based at least in part on the MCS table.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions for wireless communication, the instructions comprising:

• one or more instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a first user equipment (UE), cause the at least one processor to:
• determine, by the first UE and for a device-to-device communication with a second UE, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table, of a set of MCS tables, based at least in part on a capability of the second UE and one or more of:
• a packet size of one or more packets that the first UE is to transmit, or
• a packet size that the first UE supports;
• and
• receive, from the second UE, data using an MCS selected based at least in part on the MCS table.

A first user equipment (UE) for wireless communication, comprising:

• means for determining, for a device-to-device communication with a second UE, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table, of a set of MCS tables, based at least in part on a capability of the second UE and one or more of:
• a packet size of one or more packets that the first UE is to transmit, or
• a packet size that the first UE supports;
• and
• means for receiving, from the second UE, data using an MCS selected based at least in part on the MCS table.
