Abstract
An antenna for wireless power transfer includes a first antenna terminal, a second antenna terminal, at least one inner turn, the at least one inner turn having an inner turn width, and at least one outer turn, the at least one outer turn having an outer turn width, the outer turn width greater than the inner turn width. The antenna further includes a substrate positioned underneath the at least one inner turn and the at least one outer turn and a plurality of separate panes of a magnetic shielding material. Each of the plurality of separate panes are positioned substantially co-planar, with respect to each other, and positioned between the substrate and both the at least one inner turns and the at least one outer turns.

A wireless transmission system for a wireless power transfer system, the wireless transmission system comprising:
- a transmitter circuit configured to generate a wireless power signal for transmission;
- a transmitter antenna comprising a continuous conductive wire including a plurality of turns and in electrical connection with the transmitter circuit, the plurality of turns comprising:
- at least one outer turn;
- and
- at least one inner turn;
- and
- a shielding comprising:
- a substrate positioned underneath the transmitter antenna;
- and
- a plurality of separate panes of a magnetic shielding material, each of the plurality of separate panes positioned substantially co-planar, with respect to each other, and positioned between the substrate and the transmitter antenna, the plurality of separate panes comprising:
- a center pane having outer edges defining a center pane perimeter;
- and
- a plurality of perimeter panes arranged around the outer edges of the center pane, such that the plurality of perimeter panes surround the center pane, and
- wherein the at least one inner turn is positioned over the center pane and substantially within the center pane perimeter, and the at least one outer turn is positioned substantially over the plurality of perimeter panes.
The wireless transmission system 1, wherein the at least one outer turn is electrically connected to the at least one inner turn by a crossover formed by the continuous conductive wire.
An antenna for wireless power transfer, the antenna comprising:
- a continuous conductive wire including a first antenna portion extending from a first antenna terminal to a second antenna terminal, the first antenna portion comprising:
- at least one first inner turn;

- a first substrate positioned underneath the at least one first inner turn and the at least one first outer turn;
- and
- a first plurality of separate panes of a magnetic shielding material, each of the first plurality separate panes positioned substantially co-planar, with respect to each other, and positioned between the first substrate and the first antenna portion, the first plurality of separate panes comprising:
- a first center pane having outer edges defining a first center pane perimeter;
- a first plurality of perimeter panes arranged around the outer edges of the first center pane, such that the first plurality of perimeter panes surround the first center pane, and
- wherein the at least one first inner turn is positioned over the first center pane and substantially within the first center pane perimeter, and the at least one first outer turn is positioned substantially over the first plurality of perimeter panes.
A wireless transmission system for a wireless power transfer system, the wireless transmission system comprising:
