Abstract
A porous metal foil and porous metal wire are described. Capacitor anodes made from either or both of the porous metal foil and porous metal wire are further described as well as methods to make same.

A porous metal wire having an outer surface, said porous metal wire comprising a) a tantalum wire having a diameter of from about 0.05 mm to about 1.0 mm, and b) porosity at least at said outer surface and as part of the tantalum wire.
