Abstract
In one implementation, a method of scene camera retargeting is performed by a head-mounted device (HMD) including one or more processors, non-transitory memory, a scene camera, and a display. The method includes capturing, using the scene camera, an image of a scene. The method includes determining, using the one or more processors, a depth of the scene. The method further includes transforming, using the one or more processors, the image of the scene based on the depth and a difference between a point-of-view of the scene camera and a point-of-view of a user. The method further includes displaying, on the display, the transformed image.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- at a device including one or more processors, non-transitory memory, an image sensor, and a display:
- obtaining, using the image sensor, a first image of a scene, wherein the first image is associated with a first point-of-view of the scene;
- determining, using the one or more processors, a depth of the scene;
- generating, using the one or more processors, a second image of the scene based on the first image of the scene, the depth of the scene, and a partial difference between the first point-of-view of the scene and a second point-of-view of the scene, wherein the partial difference corresponds to a partial offset in at least one of relative x, y, or z coordinates of the first point-of-view of the scene and the second point-of-view of the scene;
- and
- displaying, on the display, the second image of the scene.
A device comprising:
- an image sensor;
- a display;
- non-transitory memory;
- and
- one or more processors to:
- obtain, using the image sensor, a first image of a scene, wherein the first image is associated with a first point-of-view of the scene;
- determine, using the one or more processors, a depth of the scene;
- generate, using the one or more processors, a second image of the scene based on the first image of the scene, the depth of the scene, and a partial difference between the first point-of-view of the scene and a second point-of-view of the scene, wherein the partial difference corresponds to a partial offset in at least one of relative x, y, or z coordinates between the first point-of-view of the scene and the second point-of-view of the scene;
- and
- display, on the display, the second image of the scene.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions encoded thereon which, when executed by one or more processors of a device including an image sensor and a display, cause the device to:
- obtain, using the image sensor, a first image of a scene, wherein the first image is associated with a first point-of-view of the scene;
- determine, using the one or more processors, a depth of the scene;
- generate, using the one or more processors, a second image of the scene based on the first image of the scene, the depth of the scene, and a partial difference between the first point-of-view of the scene and a second point-of-view of the scene, wherein the partial difference corresponds to a partial offset in at least one of relative x, y, or z coordinates between the first point-of-view of the scene and the second point-of-view of the scene;
- and
- display, on the display, the second image of the scene.
