Identifying consumers in a transaction via facial recognition

A computer-implemented method to identify users at locations, comprising:

• receiving, by one or more processors and from a user computing device at a location of a merchant system, an account identifier of a user and a merchant identifier, wherein the user computing device received the merchant identifier from a broadcast at the location of the merchant system and retransmitted the merchant identifier to the one or more processors;
• identifying the location of the merchant system associated with the merchant identifier;
• adding a facial template corresponding to the account identifier of the user and the location of the merchant system to a current customer log comprising facial templates of users currently at the location of the merchant system;
• and
• transmitting, to a merchant computing device at the location of the merchant system, the current customer log, wherein the merchant computing device identifies the user based on identifying a facial template from the current customer log that is similar to a facial image of the user received by the merchant computing device.

One or more non-transitory computer-readable media having computer-readable instructions embodied thereon that when executed by one or more processors cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• receiving, by the one or more processors at a location and from one or more computing devices, one or more facial templates, each facial template associated with a corresponding user associated with a corresponding user computing device that received a broadcasted identifier at the location and retransmitted the identifier to the one or more computing devices, each facial template comprising a representation of a respective facial image of the corresponding user;
• obtaining a facial image of a particular user;
• determining a similarity between the facial image and each of the one or more facial templates;
• and
• identifying a particular facial template of the one or more facial templates as corresponding to the facial image of the particular user based on a determined similarity between the facial image and the particular facial template satisfying a threshold indicating that the particular facial template corresponds to the facial image of the particular user.
