Device and method for arranging objects displayed on divided areas in a vehicle display

A display control device connected to a vehicle comprising:

• a memory storing programs;
• and
• a processor which, by executing programs, function as:
• a display region setting unit configured to change a position of a boundary line of one or a plurality of display regions provided on a screen of the display control device to dynamically change a size of the one or plurality of display regions, in accordance with occurrence of an event;
• a display control unit configured to provide arrangement regions for arranging display objects in the one or plurality of display regions, and change a relative positional relationship of the arrangement regions provided on a same display region of the one or plurality of display regions, in accordance with change in size of the one or plurality of display regions;
• and
• a priority setting unit configured to set relative priority with respect to the arrangement regions provided on the same display region, wherein in a case where the relative positional relationship between the arrangement regions provided on the same display region is changed, which causes the arrangement regions to be close to each other at a predetermined distance or shorter, and in response to the change in size of the one or plurality of display regions, the display control unit controls display of the display objects arranged on a same arrangement region in an arrangement region unit by moving or weeding out one or more of the display objects arranged on the arrangement region with lower priority in the arrangement region, and displaying one or more of the display objects arranged on the arrangement region with higher priority, based on the priority set with respect to the arrangement regions, wherein the priority setting unit learns a situation where the priority is changed, and dynamically changes the priority, based on a learning result of a state of information acquired by the vehicle that includes at least a current place, a traveling speed, a traffic condition, a temperature, weather, and a time range.
