Light field display device having improved viewing angle

A light field display device, comprising:

• a display panel including a plurality of subpixels each configured to emit a light field;
• and
• a lenticular lens array on the display panel, the lenticular lens array including a plurality of lenticular lenses having a first lenticular lens and a second lenticular lens,
• wherein the plurality of subpixels are arranged into a plurality of subpixel groups including a first pixel group having first subpixels from the plurality of subpixels, and the plurality of lenticular lenses correspond to the plurality of subpixel groups,
• wherein a width of each of the plurality of subpixel groups is greater than a width of each of the plurality of lenticular lenses such that the first pixel group overlaps both the first lenticular lens and the second lenticular lens, and
• wherein the light fields emitted from the plurality of subpixels of one of the plurality of subpixel groups pass through one of the plurality of lenticular lenses such that a light field emitted by the first pixel group passes through the first lenticular lens but not the second lenticular lens even though the first pixel group overlaps both the first lenticular lens and the second lenticular lens.
