Abstract
In accordance with various embodiments, lighting systems features one or more inter-connectable light panels each having multiple light-emitting elements thereon. One or more of the light panels may feature one or more connectors, and associated conductors, for the transmission of power, communication signals, and/or control signals. One or more of the light panels may include sound-absorbing material therebelow and may define one or more apertures and/or cut-out regions that reveal the sound-absorbing material.
Claims23
An acoustic lighting system comprising:
- a rigid support panel having first and second opposing surfaces;
- disposed over the first surface of the support panel, a light panel comprising (i) a substrate having one or more apertures or cut-out regions defined therein and (ii) a plurality of light-emitting elements disposed over the substrate;
- and
- disposed between the support panel and the light panel, a plurality of sections of a sound-absorbing material having gaps therebetween, at least some of the sections being exposed through the one or more apertures or cut-out regions in the light-panel.
An acoustic lighting system comprising:
- a rigid sound-absorbing material having first and second opposing surfaces;
- and
- a first light panel disposed over the first surface of the sound-absorbing material, the first light panel comprising (i) a substrate and (ii) a plurality of light-emitting elements disposed over the substrate,
- wherein:
- the first light panel comprises (i) a first elongated portion extending in a first direction, (ii) first and second power conductors extending over the substrate in the first elongated portion, and (iii) a plurality of second elongated portions extending from the first elongated portion in a second direction different from the first direction,
- each second elongated portion comprises a plurality of light-emitting elements thereon, power being supplied to said light-emitting elements by the first and second power conductors, and
- the second elongated portions are separated by gaps therebetween such that the sound-absorbing material is exposed through the gaps between the second elongated portions.
