Abstract
A method for reversing or mitigating skin aging comprising topically applying a composition which comprises at least one oxidant, and at least one fluorescent dye capable of activating the oxidant and illuminating said composition for a time sufficient to activate the at least one oxidant.
Claims9
A method for reversing or mitigating skin aging comprising:
- a) topically applying on an area of a patient's skin to be treated a composition comprising at least one oxidant selected from at least one of hydrogen peroxide, carbamide peroxide and benzoyl peroxide, and at least one fluorescent dye selected from a xanthene derivative dye, an azo dye, a biological stain and a cartenoid, capable of activating the oxidant;
- b) illuminating the applied composition with actinic light for a period of about 60 seconds to about 5 minutes per cm2 of the area to be treated;
- thereby reversing or mitigating skin aging;
- and c) at least one healing factor selected from hyaluronic acid, glucosamine and allantoin.
