Abstract
The present invention is directed to the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis with (a) a phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor or (b) a phosphodiesterase 4 inhibitor and a second active pharmaceutical ingredient.

A method of treating idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, comprising administering a pharmaceutical composition comprising 5-((2R,4aR,10bR)-9-ethoxy-2-hydroxy-8-methoxy-1,2,3,4,4a,10b-hexahydro-phenanthridin-6-yl)1-methyl-1H-pyridin-2-one (Compound A) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to a patient in need thereof.
