Abstract
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for wireless communications. A base station may configure for a wireless device access configurations on different uplink carriers, such as a supplemental uplink carrier and a non-supplemental uplink carrier. Control information may indicate that the wireless device may use a second uplink carrier, for example, if an access procedure fails on the first uplink carrier.
Claims76
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a wireless device, one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of random access channel resources of a cell;
- receiving control information that is configured to cause random access preamble transmission and that indicates:
- a first uplink carrier of the cell for a first random access procedure;
- and
- a second uplink carrier of the cell for a second random access procedure;
- sending, via the first uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one first random access preamble for the first random access procedure;
- and
- based on a determination that the first random access procedure is unsuccessful, sending, via the second uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one second random access preamble for the second random access procedure.
A method comprising:
- receiving, by a wireless device, one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of random access channel resources of a cell;
- receiving control information that is configured to cause random access preamble transmission and that indicates:
- a first uplink carrier of the cell for a first random access procedure;
- and
- a second uplink carrier of the cell for a second random access procedure;
- sending, via the first uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one first random access preamble for the first random access procedure;
- and
- based on a determination whether the first random access procedure is successful, sending an uplink transmission via at least one of the first uplink carrier or the second uplink carrier.
A wireless device comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:
- receive one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of random access channel resources of a cell;
- receive control information that is configured to cause random access preamble transmission and that indicates:
- a first uplink carrier of the cell for a first random access procedure;
- and
- a second uplink carrier of the cell for a second random access procedure;
- send, via the first uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one first random access preamble for the first random access procedure;
- and
- based on a determination that the first random access procedure is unsuccessful, send, via the second uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one second random access preamble for the second random access procedure.
A wireless device comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:
- receive one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of random access channel resources of a cell;
- receive control information that is configured to cause random access preamble transmission and that indicates:
- a first uplink carrier of the cell for a first random access procedure;
- and
- a second uplink carrier of the cell for a second random access procedure;
- send, via the first uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one first random access preamble for the first random access procedure;
- and
- based on a determination whether the first random access procedure is successful, send an uplink transmission via at least one of the first uplink carrier or the second uplink carrier.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, configure a wireless device to:
- receive one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of random access channel resources of a cell;
- receive control information that is configured to cause random access preamble transmission and that indicates:
- a first uplink carrier of the cell for a first random access procedure;
- and
- a second uplink carrier of the cell for a second random access procedure;
- send, via the first uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one first random access preamble for the first random access procedure;
- and
- based on a determination that the first random access procedure is unsuccessful, send, via the second uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one second random access preamble for the second random access procedure.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, configure a wireless device to:
- receive one or more configuration parameters indicating a plurality of random access channel resources of a cell;
- receive control information that is configured to cause random access preamble transmission and that indicates:
- a first uplink carrier of the cell for a first random access procedure;
- and
- a second uplink carrier of the cell for a second random access procedure;
- send, via the first uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one first random access preamble for the first random access procedure;
- and
- based on a determination whether the first random access procedure is successful, send an uplink transmission via at least one of the first uplink carrier or the second uplink carrier.

- send control information that is configured to cause random access preamble transmission and that indicates:
- a first uplink carrier of the cell for a first random access procedure;
- and
- a second uplink carrier of the cell for a second random access procedure;
- and
- wherein the wireless device is configured to:
- send, via the first uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one first random access preamble for the first random access procedure;
- and
- based on a determination that the first random access procedure is unsuccessful, send, via the second uplink carrier and based on the control information, at least one second random access preamble for the second random access procedure.
A system comprising:
- a base station;
