Cell tower monitoring systems and methods

A cell tower monitoring and diagnostic system having multiple monitoring devices that are each electronically coupled to a cell tower transmission pathway at various locations, the multiple monitoring devices including a first portion of monitoring devices located along a first portion of the transmission pathway and a second portion of monitoring devices located along a second portion of the transmission pathway, the multiple monitoring devices also electronically coupled to a base station that receives output from the multiple monitoring devices, the system comprising:

• a processor configured to:
• receive a data message from the base station, the data message including:
• a first output from the first portion of monitoring devices, the first output including a first performance feature of the first portion of monitoring devices,
• an indication of whether, based on the first output, a second inquiry was sent to the second portion of monitoring devices, and
• based on the first output, an identity of a fault on the transmission pathway in one or both of the first portion or the second portion of monitoring devices;
• use the message to request to dispatch a technician, the request generated in response to the identification of the fault in one or both of the first portion or the second portion of monitoring devices, the request including data relating to the identification of the fault in either or both of the first portion or the second portion, and
• an output configured to output the request.
