Abstract
Methods and apparatus for obfuscated audience identification are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a camera to capture an obfuscated recording of a viewing environment, feature identifying circuitry to identify one or more features of a viewer in the viewing environment based on the obfuscated recording, and panelist identifying circuitry to identify a panelist in the viewing environment based on the one or more identified features of the viewer.
Claims26
An apparatus comprising:
- a camera to capture an obfuscated recording of a viewing environment, wherein the camera includes an obfuscating lens, the obfuscating lens to obfuscate the viewing environment captured by the camera, wherein the obfuscating lens is chemically sprayed;
- feature identifying circuitry to identify one or more features of a viewer in the viewing environment based on the obfuscated recording;
- and
- panelist identifying circuitry to identify a panelist in the viewing environment based on the one or more identified features of the viewer.
An apparatus comprising:
- a camera to capture an obfuscated recording of a viewing environment, wherein the camera includes an obfuscating lens, the obfuscating lens to obfuscate the viewing environment captured by the camera, wherein the obfuscating lens is at least one of sanded or sandblasted to produce a surface roughness;
- feature identifying circuitry to identify one or more features of a viewer in the viewing environment based on the obfuscated recording;
- and
- panelist identifying circuitry to identify a panelist in the viewing environment based on the one or more identified features of the viewer.
An apparatus comprising:
- a camera to capture an obfuscated recording of a viewing environment;
- feature identifying circuitry to identify one or more features of a viewer in the viewing environment based on the obfuscated recording;
- panelist identifying circuitry to identify a first panelist in the viewing environment based on the one or more identified features of the viewer;
- viewer prompting circuitry to prompt the viewer to provide a panelist identifier in response to the one or more identified features of the viewer being different from one or more features previously identified for the first panelist;
- and
- profile generating circuitry to:
- update one or more features in a first profile associated with the first panelist in response to the panelist identifier provided by the viewer being associated with the first panelist;
- and
- generate a second profile to associate with the viewer in response to the panelist identifier provided by the viewer being associated with a second panelist, the second profile including the one or more identified features of the viewer.
An apparatus comprising:
- a camera to capture an obfuscated recording of a viewing environment;
- feature identifying circuitry to identify one or more features of a viewer in the viewing environment based on the obfuscated recording, wherein the feature identifying circuitry is to:
- detect motion within the viewing environment;
- search for a silhouette of the viewer within the viewing environment in response to the motion being detected;
- and
- identify a facial region of the viewer in response to identifying the silhouette of the viewer, the feature identifying circuitry to cause the camera to zoom in on the identified facial region;
- and
- panelist identifying circuitry to identify a panelist in the viewing environment based on the one or more identified features of the viewer.
An apparatus comprising:
- a camera to capture an obfuscated recording of a viewing environment, wherein the camera includes an obfuscating lens, the obfuscating lens to obfuscate the viewing environment captured by the camera, wherein the obfuscating lens includes a rough surface
- memory;
- machine readable instructions;
- and
- processor circuitry to at least one of instantiate or execute the machine readable instructions to:
- identify one or more features of a viewer in the viewing environment based on the obfuscated recording;
- and
- identify a panelist in the viewing environment based on the one or more identified features of the viewer.
An apparatus comprising:
- a camera to capture an obfuscated recording of a viewing environment, wherein the camera includes an obfuscating lens, the obfuscating lens to obfuscate the viewing environment captured by the camera, wherein the obfuscating lens is chemically sprayed to form an obfuscating surface;
- memory;
- machine readable instructions;
- and
- processor circuitry to at least one of instantiate or execute the machine readable instructions to:
- identify one or more features of a viewer in the viewing environment based on the obfuscated recording;
- and
- identify a panelist in the viewing environment based on the one or more identified features of the viewer.
An apparatus comprising:
- a camera to capture an obfuscated recording of a viewing environment;
- memory;
- machine readable instructions;
- and
- processor circuitry to at least one of instantiate or execute the machine readable instructions to:
- identify one or more features of a viewer in the viewing environment based on the obfuscated recording;
- identify a first panelist in the viewing environment based on the one or more identified features of the viewer;
- prompt the viewer to provide a panelist identifier in response to the one or more identified features of the viewer being different from one or more features previously identified for the first panelist;
- update one or more features in a first profile associated with the first panelist in response to the panelist identifier provided by the viewer being associated with the first panelist;
- and
- generate a second profile to associate with the viewer in response to the panelist identifier provided by the viewer being associated with a second panelist, the second profile including the one or more identified features of the viewer.
An apparatus comprising:
- means for capturing a recording of a viewing environment;
- means for obfuscating the recording captured by the means for capturing to prevent the means for capturing from capturing a non-obfuscated recording of the viewing environment;
- means for identifying one or more features of a viewer in the viewing environment based on the recording of the viewing environment;
- means for identifying a first panelist in the viewing environment based on the one or more identified features of the viewer;
- means for prompting to prompt the viewer to provide a panelist identifier in response to the one or more identified features of the viewer being different from one or more features previously identified for the first panelist;
- means for generating viewer profiles to;
- update one or more features in a first profile associated with the first panelist in response to the panelist identifier provided by the viewer being associated with the first panelist;
- and
- generate a second profile to associate with the viewer in response to the panelist identifier provided by the viewer being associated with a second panelist, the second profile including the one or more identified features of the viewer.
A non-transitory machine readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed, cause processor circuitry to at least:
- capture an obfuscated recording of a viewing environment;
- identify one or more features of a viewer in the viewing environment based on the obfuscated recording;
- identify a first panelist in the viewing environment based on the one or more identified features of the viewer;
