Dynamic IP address whitelisting

A method for dynamic Internet Protocol (IP) address whitelisting, the method comprising:

• executing a first task, the first task comprising:
• determining IP addresses corresponding to customer accounts associated with a service provider;
• adding the IP addresses to a dynamic whitelist indicative of IP addresses granted greater access to network services of the service provider relative to IP addresses excluded from the dynamic whitelist;
• determining, after the IP addresses have been added to the dynamic whitelist, that a first IP address of the IP addresses has become inactive, wherein the determining is based on a network traffic associated with the first IP address;
• and
• executing, after the determining that the first IP address has become inactive, a second task, the second task comprising:
• removing, from the dynamic whitelist, the first IP address.

A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon machine-readable instructions executable to cause a machine to perform operations comprising:

• determining one or more IP addresses associated with accounts registered with a service provider;
• adding the one or more IP addresses to a dynamic whitelist indicative of IP addresses granted greater access to application services of the service provider relative to IP addresses excluded from the dynamic whitelist;
• monitoring a network traffic of each of the one or more IP addresses;
• determining, based on the monitoring, that a first IP address on the dynamic whitelist that is associated with an absence of network traffic within a previous time period has become inactive;
• and
• in response to determining that the first IP address has become inactive, removing, from the dynamic whitelist, the first IP address.
