A receiving device for receiving a service fragment, the receiving device comprising:
- a processor, and
- a memory associated with the processor;
- wherein the processor is configured to:
- receive the service fragment represented as an XML document;
- wherein:
- the service fragment includes:
- (i) a service type element, wherein a value of the service type element equal to 228 indicates that the service fragment, contains information regarding a linear service, and
- (ii) a service extension element, wherein the service extension element contains optional a major channel number element and a minor channel number element.
