Method for transmitting and receiving channel state information in wireless communication system and device for the same

A user equipment (UE) configured to transmit channel state information (CSI) in a wireless communication system, the UE comprising:

• at least one transceiver;
• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one memory operably connected to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, based on being executed by the at least one processor, perform operations comprising:
• receiving, from a base station, configuration information for a codebook,
• wherein the configuration information includes a bitmap parameter related with subset restriction of the codebook,
• wherein a number of bits of the bitmap parameter is determined based on a product of (i) a number of antenna ports in a first dimension, (ii) an oversampling factor for the first dimension, (iii) a number of antenna ports in a second dimension and (iv) an oversampling factor for the second dimension;
• and
• reporting, to the base station, the CSI including precoding matrix indicator (PMI), based on the codebook,
• wherein for a first case that (i) a total number of antenna ports in the first dimension and the second dimension is configured as 16 or more and (ii) a number of layers is 3 or 4:
• bitmap subsets including three bits are configured based on the bitmap parameter,
• each of the bitmap subsets including the three bits of the bitmap parameter is related to each of precoding matrices included in a precoding matrix set for the first case, respectively,
• based on whether a value of one or more bits of three bits included in a bitmap subset of bitmap parameter to be configured to be 0, all PMI reporting corresponding to all precoding matrix related to the bitmap subset including the one or more bits configured to be 0 of the three bits is not performed.

A method, by a base station, of receiving channel state information (CSI) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), configuration information for a codebook,
• wherein the configuration information includes a bitmap parameter related with subset restriction of the codebook,
• wherein a number of bits of the bitmap parameter is determined based on a product of (i) a number of antenna ports in a first dimension, (ii) an oversampling factor for the first dimension, (iii) a number of antenna ports in a second dimension and (iv) an oversampling factor for the second dimension;
• and
• receiving, from the UE, the CSI including precoding matrix indicator (PMI), based on the codebook,
• wherein for a first case that (i) a total number of antenna ports in the first dimension and the second dimension is configured as 16 or more and (ii) a number of layers is 3 or 4:
• bitmap subsets including three bits are configured based on the bitmap parameter,
• each of the bitmap subsets including the three bits of the bitmap parameter is related to each of precoding matrices included in a precoding matrix set for the first case, respectively,
• based on whether a value of one or more bits of three bits included in a bitmap subset of bitmap parameter to be configured to be 0, all PMI reporting corresponding to all precoding matrix related to the bitmap subset including the one or more bits configured to be 0 of the three bits is not performed.
