Abstract
A method of producing ions from a sample is disclosed. The method comprises directing a spray of droplets onto a sample, and causing droplets comprising analyte from the sample to impact upon a surface so as to generate analyte ions.
Claims4
A method of producing ions from a sample comprising:
- directing a substantially electrically neutral spray of droplets onto a sample using a nebulizer so as to form substantially electrically neutral secondary droplets comprising analyte from the sample;
- and
- causing the secondary droplets comprising analyte from the sample to impact upon a surface so as to generate analyte ions.
