Abstract
An improved system and method of selectively transmitting asset data from one or more sensors associated with the vehicle to a backend server, which is configured to analyze the asset data and, if necessary for further analysis of the asset data (e.g., to determine whether a safety event has occurred) and/or to provide actionable data for review by a safety analyst, requests further asset data from a vehicle device.
Claims20
A method performed by an event analysis system having one or more hardware computer processors and one or more non-transitory computer readable storage device storing software instructions executable by the event analysis system, the method comprising:
- accessing first event data associated with a safety event detected at a vehicle device at a first time;
- determining, based on the first event data, an event type;
- determining, based at least on the event type, second event data including one or more assets associated with the event type at the first time;
- transmitting an asset data request for the second event data to the vehicle device;
- receiving, from the vehicle device, the second event data associated with the first event;
- training an event model associated with the event type based on at least some of the event data;
- and
- providing the event model to the vehicle device, wherein the event model is used by the vehicle device to detect future events of the event type.
A computing system comprising:
- an event analysis system having a hardware computer processor and a non-transitory computer readable medium having software instructions stored thereon, the software instructions executable by the hardware computer processor to cause the event analysis system to perform operations comprising:
- accessing first event data associated with a safety event detected at a vehicle device at a first time;
- determining, based on the first event data, an event type;
- determining, based at least on the event type, second event data including one or more assets associated with the event type at the first time;
- transmitting an asset data request for the second event data to the vehicle device;
- receiving, from the vehicle device, the second event data associated with the first event;
- training an event model associated with the event type based on at least some of the event data;
- and
- providing the event model to the vehicle device, wherein the event model is used by the vehicle device to detect future events of the event type.
A computing system comprising:
- a hardware computer processor;
- a non-transitory computer readable medium having software instructions stored thereon, the software instructions executable by the hardware computer processor to cause the computing system to perform operations comprising:
- accessing first event data associated with a safety event detected at a vehicle device at a first time;
- determining, based on the first event data, an event type;
- determining, based at least on the event type, second event data including one or more assets associated with the event type at the first time;
- transmitting an asset data request for the second event data to the vehicle device;
- receiving, from the vehicle device, the second event data associated with the first event;
- training an event model associated with the event type based on at least some of the event data;
- and
- providing the event model to the vehicle device, wherein the event model is used by the vehicle device to detect future events of the event type.
