Abstract
In one embodiment, a method includes maintaining a reminder store comprising one or more reminders for a first user, wherein each reminder is associated with an initial activation-condition, determining a context associated with the first user based on signals from a client system associated with the first user, determining a suppression-condition associated with at least one of the reminders is met based on the context, and suppressing the at least one reminder for the first user.
Claims15
A method comprising, by an assistant system:
- receiving, from a first client system associated with a first user, a request to the assistant system for generating a first reminder, wherein the first reminder is associated with a first initial activation-condition, and wherein the first reminder is for a first activity of the first user at a future time;
- storing the first reminder in a reminder store comprising one or more reminders for the first user, wherein each reminder is associated with a respective initial activation-condition;
- determining a first context associated with the first user based on signals from the first client system;
- determining, based on the first context, a suppression-condition associated with the first reminder is satisfied, wherein the suppression-condition indicates a conflict between a current second activity of the first user and a delivery of the first reminder for the first activity, the conflict causing an interruption to the current second activity of the first user;
- accessing an intent stack comprising a plurality of intents associated with a plurality of priorities determined by a dialog state tracker, respectively, wherein a first intent of the intents is associated with the first reminder and a first priority and a second intent of the intents is associated with the current second activity and a second priority;
- suppressing the first reminder for the first user by not delivering the first reminder when the first initial activation-condition is satisfied and the first priority is lower than the second priority;
- generating an updated first activation-condition associated with the first reminder for the first user, wherein the updated first activation-condition is based on a status change of the current second activity of the first user;
- determining a second context associated with the first user based on the signals from the first client system;
- determining, based on the second context, the updated first activation-condition associated with the first reminder is satisfied;
- and
- sending, from the assistant system to the first client system, instruction for presenting the first reminder to the first user responsive to the updated first activation-condition being satisfied.
One or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media embodying software that is operable when executed to:
- receive, from a first client system associated with a first user, a request to an assistant system for generating a first reminder, wherein the first reminder is associated with a first initial activation-condition, and wherein the first reminder is for a first activity of the first user at a future time;
- store the first reminder in a reminder store comprising one or more reminders for the first user, wherein each reminder is associated with a respective initial activation-condition;
- determine a first context associated with the first user based on signals from the first client system;
- determine, based on the first context, a suppression-condition associated with the first reminder is satisfied, wherein the suppression-condition indicates a conflict between a current second activity of the first user and a delivery of the first reminder for the first activity, the conflict causing an interruption to the current second activity of the first user;
- access an intent stack comprising a plurality of intents associated with a plurality of priorities determined by a dialog state tracker, respectively, wherein a first intent of the intents is associated with the first reminder and a first priority and a second intent of the intents is associated with the current second activity and a second priority;
- suppress the first reminder for the first user by not delivering the first reminder when the first initial activation-condition is satisfied and the first priority is lower than the second priority;
- generate an updated first activation-condition associated with the first reminder for the first user, wherein the updated first activation-condition is based on a status change of the current second activity of the first user;
- determine a second context associated with the first user based on the signals from the first client system;
- determine, based on the second context, the updated first activation-condition associated with the first reminder is satisfied;
- and
- send, from the assistant system to the first client system, instruction for presenting the first reminder to the first user responsive to the updated first activation-condition being satisfied.
A system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and a non-transitory memory coupled to the processors comprising instructions executable by the processors, the processors operable when executing the instructions to:
- receive, from a first client system associated with a first user, a request to an assistant system for generating a first reminder, wherein the first reminder is associated with a first initial activation-condition, and wherein the first reminder is for a first activity of the first user at a future time;
- store the first reminder in a reminder store comprising one or more reminders for the first user, wherein each reminder is associated with a respective initial activation-condition;
- determine a first context associated with the first user based on signals from the first client system;
- determine, based on the first context, a suppression-condition associated with the first reminder is satisfied, wherein the suppression-condition indicates a conflict between a current second activity of the first user and a delivery of the first reminder for the first activity, the conflict causing an interruption to the current second activity of the first user;
- access an intent stack comprising a plurality of intents associated with a plurality of priorities determined by a dialog state tracker, respectively, wherein a first intent of the intents is associated with the first reminder and a first priority and a second intent of the intents is associated with the current second activity and a second priority;
- suppress the first reminder for the first user by not delivering the first reminder when the first initial activation-condition is satisfied and the first priority is lower than the second priority;
- generate an updated first activation-condition associated with the first reminder for the first user, wherein the updated first activation-condition is based on a status change of the current second activity of the first user;
- determine a second context associated with the first user based on the signals from the first client system;
- determine, based on the second context, the updated first activation-condition associated with the first reminder is satisfied;
- and
- send, from the assistant system to the first client system, instruction for presenting the first reminder to the first user responsive to the updated first activation-condition being satisfied.
