Systems and methods for point of sale deposits

A method for executing point of sale deposits at point of sale terminals of merchants, comprising:

• receiving, at a server from a mobile device associated with a customer, deposit information related to a point of sale deposit to a financial service account held by the customer;
• generating, at the server, a deposit token based on specifications associated with the mobile device;
• transmitting the deposit token from the server to the mobile device;
• receiving, at the server from a point of sale terminal, a point of sale deposit authorization notification indicating receipt by the point of sale terminal of the deposit token and a confirmation that the customer physically delivered funds to a merchant in an amount to be deposited;
• and
• causing, at the server, transmission of a transfer notification to electronically transfer the funds to the financial service account held by the customer based on the deposit information and the point of sale deposit authorization notification.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium for executing point of sale deposits at point of sale terminals of merchants, comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause operations comprising:

• receiving, at a server from a mobile device associated with a customer, deposit information related to a point of sale deposit to a financial service account held by the customer;
• generating, at the server, a deposit token based on specifications associated with the mobile device;
• transmitting the deposit token from the server to the mobile device;
• receiving, at the server from a point of sale terminal, a point of sale deposit authorization notification indicating receipt by the point of sale terminal of the deposit token and a confirmation that the customer physically delivered funds to a merchant in an amount to be deposited;
• and
• causing, at the server, transmission of a transfer notification to electronically transfer the funds to the financial service account held by the customer based on the deposit information and the point of sale deposit authorization notification.
