Abstract
A computing device running a tool for visually exploring datasets receives a request for a dataset comprising a plurality of subspaces of a multi-dimensional data structure and in response to receiving a user selection of a data point associated with the dataset, presents a visualization of the calculations associated with the selected data point. The tool allows the user to select one of the calculations, thus causing presentation of a visualization of the selected calculation. A semantic graphical feature is incorporated into the visualization of the selected calculation depending upon a type of the calculation.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- memory coupled to the processor, the memory comprising computer executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, perform operations comprising:
- causing presentation of a first chart in a graphical user interface (GUI), the GUI comprising a first dimension or measure limiter for data in the first chart;
- receiving a selection of the first dimension or measure limiter;
- and
- in response to the selection of the first dimension or measure limiter, updating the first chart to a second chart, the second chart comprising an expanded view of the data in the first chart based on the selection of the first dimension or measure limiter.
A method comprising:
- causing presentation of a first chart in a graphical user interface (GUI), the GUI comprising:
- a first section comprising a first dimension or measure limiter for data in the first chart;
- and
- a second section comprising the first chart;
- receiving a selection of the first dimension or measure limiter;
- and
- in response to the selection of the first dimension or measure limiter, creating a second chart, the second chart comprising a view of the data in the first chart that is based on the selection of the first dimension or measure limiter.
A device comprising:
- memory having computer executable instructions that, when executed, perform operations comprising:
- receiving a selection of a calculation option for data in a multi-dimensional dataset;
- in response to receiving the selection of the calculation option, causing presentation of a graphical representation of data in a graphical user interface (GUI), the GUI comprising a dimension or measure limiter for the graphical representation of data;
- receiving a selection of the dimension or measure limiter;
- and
- in response to the selection of the dimension or measure limiter, updating the graphical representation of data, the updated graphical representation of data comprising an expanded view of the data in the graphical representation of data.
