Abstract
System, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium for presenting images on a mobile device. Images are presented by monitoring one or more physical characteristics surrounding the mobile device using at least one sensor, determining a contextual state of the mobile device based on the monitored one or more physical characteristics, selecting an image from a plurality of related images associated with the determined contextual state, generating at least one overlay image from the selected image, and presenting the at least one overlay image with an optical assembly of the mobile device.
Claims18
A system comprising:
- a mobile device including:
- an optical assembly, the optical assembly having a viewing area for viewing a scene and configured to present overlay images to a user over the scene in the viewing area;
- and
- at least one sensor configured to determine one or more physical characteristics surrounding the mobile device;
- a processor coupled to the mobile device;
- a memory accessible to the processor, the memory including a plurality of themes, each theme having a plurality of related images with each of the images associated with a respective contextual state;
- and
- programming in the memory, wherein execution of the programming by the processor configures the system to perform functions, including functions to:
- receive a theme selection from a user;
- monitor the one or more physical characteristics surrounding the mobile device using the at least one sensor;
- determine a contextual state of the mobile device based on the monitored one or more physical characteristics, wherein the contextual state is one of dining, evening, shopping, driving, outside, or moving;
- select an image from the plurality of related images associated with the determined contextual state and the user theme selection;
- generate at least one overlay image from the selected image;
- present the at least one overlay image on the optical assembly;
- determine a different contextual state of the mobile device based on the monitored one or more physical characteristics, wherein the different contextual state is another one of dining, evening, shopping, driving, outside, or moving;
- select another image from the plurality of related images associated with the determined different contextual state;
- generate at least one replacement overlay image from the selected image;
- and
- present the at least one replacement overlay image on the optical assembly.
A method for presenting images with a mobile device comprising:
- receiving a theme selection from a user;
- monitoring one or more physical characteristics surrounding the mobile device using at least one sensor;
- determining a contextual state of the mobile device based on the monitored one or more physical characteristics, wherein the contextual state is one of dining, evening, shopping, driving, outside, or moving;
- selecting an image from a plurality of related images associated with the determined contextual state and the user theme selection;
- generating at least one overlay image from the selected image;
- presenting the at least one overlay image with an optical assembly of the mobile device:
- determine a different contextual state of the mobile device based on the monitored one or more physical characteristics, wherein the different contextual state is another one of dining, evening, shopping, driving, outside, or moving;
- selecting another image from the plurality of related images associated with the determined different contextual state;
- generate at least one replacement overlay image from the selected image;
- and
- present the at least one replacement overlay image on the optical assembly.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing program code which, when executed, is operative to cause an electronic processor of a mobile device to perform the steps of:
- receiving a theme selection from a user;
- monitoring one or more physical characteristics surrounding the mobile device using at least one sensor;
- determining a contextual state of the mobile device based on the monitored one or more physical characteristics, wherein the contextual state is one of dining, evening, shopping, driving, outside, or moving;
- selecting an image from a plurality of related images associated with the determined contextual state and the user theme selection;
- generating at least one overlay image from the selected image;
- presenting the at least one overlay image with an optical assembly of the mobile device,
- determine a different contextual state of the mobile device based on the monitored one or more physical characteristics, wherein the different contextual state is another one of dining, evening, shopping, driving, outside, or moving;
- select another image from the plurality of related images associated with the determined different contextual state;
- generate at least one replacement overlay image from the selected image;
- and
- present the at least one replacement overlay image on the optical assembly.
