Abstract
A utility pole system that provides for easy temperature inspection of the fiberglass reinforced plastic utility pole. The system may include utility pole and a sleeve arranged around the pole, and a temperature sensor positioned underneath the sleeve.
Claims19
A utility pole system, comprising:
- a pole body;
- a fire retardant sleeve assembly arranged on at least a length of the pole body, the sleeve assembly having an outer shell and an inner insulation layer provided in contact with a surface of the pole body;
- and
- at least one temperature sensor positioned beneath and covered by the sleeve assembly, wherein the at least one temperature sensor is configured to measure a temperature experienced at the surface of the pole body underlying the sleeve assembly.
