A method for certifying software and computing hardware design testing, the method comprising:
- receiving a testing request comprising:
- a selection of a design version of a design fileset, and
- a selection of a test version of a test fileset, the test fileset comprising two or more test scripts;
- initiating a discrete environment that is at least one of a computing container and a virtual computer;
- loading a workspace data with the design version of the design fileset and the test version of the test fileset;
- mounting the workspace data to the discrete environment that comprises a runtime environment;
- selecting a test script from the two or more test scripts of the test fileset loaded into the workspace data,
- wherein the test script is executed within the discrete environment;
- generating at least one of a test failure and a test passage;
- defining a database relation associating the design version of the design fileset within a design dependency graph and the test version of the test fileset;
- placing a deletion restriction on at least one of the design version of the design fileset and the test version of the test fileset;
- storing the design version of the design fileset as a node of the design dependency graph,
- wherein the design dependency graph comprising two or more nodes each representing a design component, and
- wherein the design fileset comprising at least one of a computing script design, a computer application design, a computer hardware design, and a circuit design;
- generating a validation request to validate that the design version has previously undergone testing, the validation request comprising a unique identifier of the design fileset within the design dependency graph;
- traversing an edge of the design dependency graph to a node of the design dependency graph on which the design version depends;
- determining that the node of the design dependency graph on which the design version depends has undergone an isolation testing whereby each of the two or more test scripts:
- (i) are each executed in a separate instance of the discrete environment, and (ii) each modify a separate instance of a substrate filesystem to be operated on
- validating the design dependency graph on which the design version depends for the isolation testing;
- determining an association between the design version and the test version stored in a database;
- retrieving the design fileset, the test fileset, the substrate filesystem, and a runtime environment data;
- reassembling the workspace data;
- wherein together the design fileset and the test fileset copied into an operation filesystem defining the workspace data;
- executing the test script in the workspace data utilizing the runtime environment data to generate a second instance of a result data;
- retrieving the result data, and optionally a test report;
- comparing the result data to the second instance of the result data;
- determining a match between the result data to the second instance of the result data to validate the testing;
- and
- validating the design version by determining the design version has completed the isolation testing.
