Abstract
Pharmaceutical compositions and methods of their use are provided for reducing inflammation in a subject, blocking leukocyte recruitment, inhibiting tumor metastasis, treating sepsis and preventing/reducing acute kidney injury.

A method for treating or preventing (i) acute kidney injury or (ii) ischemia-reperfusion injury in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering an effective amount of a compound that binds to DPEP-1 to the subject in the absence of an antibiotic or nephrotoxic compound, thereby treating or preventing the acute kidney injury or ischemia reperfusion injury.
