Abstract
According to an example aspect of the present invention, there is provided a cost-effective method of producing cellulose based films by introducing an intense water removal system to the process, and cellulose based films thereof having improved properties.
Claims8
A film comprising:
- a cellulose nanofibril (CNF) or cellulose microfibril (CMF) layer comprising a CNF or CMF material, and
- a strengthening layer on a surface of the CNF or CMF layer, the strengthening layer comprising at least one filler material and comprising longer fibers than the CNF or CMF material of the CNF or CMF layer,
- wherein the strengthening layer is thinner than the CNF or CMF layer.
