Abstract
A method for forming a golf ball core with a nanofiller masterbatch is disclosed herein. The method includes mixing the nanofiller masterbatch, a graphene masterbatch material with other materials to form a core mixture, wherein the masterbatch preferably comprises 1-80% by weight of nanofillers and 20-99% by weight of a carrier polymer.

A golf ball comprising:
- a core formed from a reaction of a core mixture comprising a first masterbatch ranging from 50 to 90 weight percent of the core mixture, a graphene masterbatch ranging 1 to 10 weight percent of the core mixture, barium sulfate ranging 1 to 5 weight percent of the core mixture, a peroxide ranging 0.2 to 1 weight percent of the core mixture, and zinc bis(pentachlorothiophenol) ranging 0.2 to 1 weight percent of the core mixture;
- a mantle layer disposed over the core layer;
- a cover disposed over the mantle layer.
A golf ball comprising:
- an inner core formed from a reaction of a core mixture comprising a first masterbatch ranging from 50 to 90 weight percent of the core mixture, a graphene masterbatch ranging 1 to 10 weight percent of the core mixture, barium sulfate ranging 1 to 5 weight percent of the core mixture, a peroxide ranging 0.2 to 1 weight percent of the core mixture, and zinc bis(pentachlorothiophenol) ranging 0.2 to 1 weight percent of the core mixture;
- an outer core disposed over the inner core;
- a mantle layer disposed over the outer core layer;
- a cover disposed over the mantle layer.
