Abstract
Aspects herein are directed to using a space-treating process to apply functional finishes to a yarn and incorporating the treated yarn into a textile and/or a garment to impart engineered functional properties to the textile and/or garment.
Claims11
A knit garment including a yarn that has been treated with a functional finish prior to the yarn being incorporated into the knit garment, the knit garment comprising:
- a first zone formed from the yarn, wherein yarn segments of the yarn in the first zone have a high level of penetration of the functional finish;
- a second zone integrally extending from the first zone, wherein yarn segments of the yarn in the second zone have a medium level of penetration of the functional finish;
- and
- a third zone integrally extending from the second zone, wherein yarn segments of the yarn in the third zone have a low level of penetration of the functional finish.

A knit textile including a yarn that has been treated with a functional finish prior to the yarn being incorporated into the knit textile, the knit textile comprising:
- a first zone formed from the yarn, wherein yarn segments of the yarn in the first zone have a high level of penetration of the functional finish;
- a second zone integrally extending from the first zone, wherein yarn segments of the yarn in the second zone have a medium level of penetration of the functional finish;
- and
- a third zone integrally extending from the second zone, wherein yarn segments of the yarn in the third zone have a low level of penetration of the functional finish.
